Go See Design
In late 2019, Jim and his wife were designing and decorating their nursery for our soon-to-be-born first child, Emmaline.
If Emmaline was anything like them, she’d possess an adventurous soul. And so they chose a travel theme. When it came time to choose posters, they wanted to pick ones representing the national parks Emmaline had visited while still in the womb.
Jim thought he’d take a crack at them. His whole life, he has loved the WPA travel posters of the 1930s and 1940s. And he wanted to create posters that captured, or at least paid homage to, that vintage style. So the first three posters, Glacier, Acadia, and Banff, were soon designed, framed, and hung on the wall of their unborn child.
One day as they were putting together the crib, his wife said, “You know, you could sell those posters.” And so, right around the same time as Emmaline, Go See Design was born.
They soon were offering posters featuring all of the United States’ national parks, plus other US and international destinations. As of April 2024, they now offer more than 380 vintage-inspired designs: posters, postcards, stickers, magnets, and more. They’ve filled more than 25,000 online orders to each of the US states and 19 different countries.
Their products are designed, printed, and packed for shipping all by hand in a home shop in Carmel, Indiana. They use super-premium papers and inks for a result far beyond mass-produced wall art. They even maintain carbon neutrality and give back to programs that protect our natural spaces!
